Small Green Nerikomi Dish
This dainty 4.5 x 5 dish was crafted using the Nerikomi technique, which involves creating a design within a block of clay and then placing slices from the block into a slab from which the vessel is formed.
During final firing, this piece, along with others, was minimally damaged by a minor explosion. This piece has a minor blemish, but it did not lose any of its beauty or functionality. It appears that a piece of shrapnel passed through, creating a small hole that was filled in with glaze as the kiln reached its temperature.
